Norwegian mass murderer declared insane




Anders Behring Breivik was declared insane and may face compulsory treatment for killing 77 people in his July 22 twin attacks on Oslo government offices and a Labor Party youth camp south of the Norwegian capital.

Breivik suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and is "delusional" according to a court ordered evaluation, prosecutor Svein Holden said yesterday at a press conference in Oslo, after being presented with a 243-page report by forensic psychiatrists Torgeir Husby and Synne Soerheim. The report was based on 13 talks with Breivik over a 36-hor period.

The evaluation, which will need approval by the Board of Forensic Medicine, may mean that the 32-year-old will be placed in compulsory psychiatric treatment, potentially for as long as life, rather than prison. A trial will be needed to establish guilt, prosecutor Inga Bejer Engh said at the briefing

Kim Kardashian files for divorce...72 days after the lavishly wedding extravaganza

Just 72 days after their $10 million wedding, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries on Monday, documents at TMZ confirm. The reality star also confirmed the news to Ryan Seacrest. "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning," Seacrest tweeted. "I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few minutes."

"There were rumors up until the wedding and after the wedding," Seacrest added Monday during his radio show. "Looks like this is true and she is filing this morning (Oct. 31)."

A serious Post: The Beginning of the demise of Facebook?


Mark Zuckerberg is Time's Man of the Year, the movie about him seems likely to be an Oscar winner, and now Goldman Sachs is raising $1.5 billion from its favorite investors on behalf of the social networking company.

At the very same moment, Facebook's only real competitor --NewsCorps' waning social networking site, MySpace -- is shedding employees and expenses, most likely in hopes of a fire sale.

But appearances can be deceiving. In fact, as I read the situation, we are witnessing the beginning of the end of Facebook. These aren't the symptoms of a company that is winning, but one that is cashing out.

Indeed, 11 years ago this week, when AOL announced its $350 billion merger with Time Warner, I was asked to write an OpEd for the New York Times explaining.....
